A couple weeks ago, Ryland asked if he could give a present to someone who didn't have much for Christmas.  So, I started doing some research online and found the Christmas Crusade for Children, which is put on by KYGO, a local radio station here in Denver.

We called up the hotline and was able to request a 4 year old boy name Mark to give presents to.  Ryland was so excited to go shopping for Mark!  We got him some clothes, shoes, christmas candy and a fun talking Superman toy (which is Mark's favorite superhero).

I thought it would be nice for Ryland and Easton to drop off their gift in person so they could see what would happen to their gift once it was turned in.  The staff and officers of Christmas Crusade were AMAZING!  They let the boys package up their gift and gave them the grand tour of their operation.  The charity gives to about 5500 local Denver children each year.

Here are a few snapshots from our visit:

Keri your kids are adorable. I believe that it's SO important to start that spirit in children really early in life. It teaches compassion and empathy. That's awesome. :)

OK, back in the day I used to go to about 20+ of my favorite blogs EACH DAY to see if a new post went up.  After a few people on my photo board started mentioning Google Reader, I had to go research.  So, for those of you who have NOT been introduced to Google Reader, you MUST READ ON!!

Google Reader is where you can organize all the blogs you love to follow.  The RSS feed goes directly into Google Reader when the author publishes a new post and it shows up bolded in your Reader, therefore eliminating going from blog to blog to see if a post has be published that day or not.  TIME SAVER!!!

Here is a quick screen shot of my Google Reader.  I have my Reader highlighting one of my photog friends in Phoenix, Kimberly Bee, and her most recent post shows up on the right.  Go give it a try!  :-)

I'm a huge Google reader fan. You can also use folders to organize, tabs to keep track of favorite things or ideas, you can star posts to come back to or save, you can email the blog or share directly from google reader too. The states are also pretty fun to see how many things you are following/reading.

Doh- I totally forgot about the search feature! It's so nice to have one place to search when I want to find something I read about instead of having to search tons of different websites or blogs. It's like getting a newspaper continually delivered, having it all saved & organized for me! Can you tell I'm in love with reader :)

Yesterday was such a wonderful, relaxing day!!  I normally don't cook much, but I told Mark if he watched the kiddos, I would cook our Thanksgiving meal.  I toted around my newly cleaned camera (thank you Englewood Camera) and documented as much of the day as possible.

The day started out nice and early with a little P90X.  I just watched, but Mark and Easton enjoyed exercising together.

While Easton and Mark were doin' their thing, Ryland quietly worked on his Play Doh Ice Cream Set

Next up was the kiddo's lunch and round one of appetizers.  I made Bacon-Wrapped Brown Sugar Smokies (delish!) and deviled eggs.

After Easton went off to a nap, Mark and Ryland battled in Super Mart Cart on the Wii.

TIME TO EAT!!!!  I made a turkey roast (brined a day ahead of time), corn casserole, mashed potatoes, cranberry salad, rolls and gravy.  Dessert was an awesome Apple Pie from Cake Crumbs Bakery!
